What’s Trump Got Going Right Now? Nothing — Not One G.D. Thing.
Increasingly, the 2024 campaign is reminding me of 1996, when Bob Dole tried to convince voters that he really cared about how the campaign would end up. Except the problem was that nobody took him very seriously, including Bob Dole himself.
It’s not just that blaming Kamala for ‘ruining’ San Francisco makes no sense, but compare the attacks against Tim Walz to what’s being said about J. D. Vance, okay?
So, the media people go out, find some old lady coming out of the supermarket, stick a mic in front of her face, ask her if she can afford to go shopping and she says “No, prices are still way too high.”
What is she supposed to say? That food costs are really low?
When was the last time that anyone ever said that prices didn't need to come down?
Meanwhile, consumer spending has returned with a vengeance, the Dow has climbed back over 40K, and the ‘ruinous’ inflation rate is under 3 percent.
Of course, none of these happy numbers would mean anything if Joe was still getting ready to go out to Chicago on Monday to accept the party’s nomination as their Presidential candidate for 2024.
Except that’s not what’s going to happen in Chicago next week, for the simple reason that Joe Biden has done something which no President since 1900 who only served for four years and therefore could run for a second term has ever done.
