When It Comes to Racism, J. D. Vance Certainly Equals Trump.

From the first day we started paying attention to Trump’s decision about who would be on this ticket as V.P., I knew that he’d come up with someone who could match or even exceed his disgusting beliefs and statements about race.

Which is why I was hardly surprised when he chose J. D. Vance to join him on the GOP slate because the one thing I knew about Hillbilly Elegy is that Vance only said anything about poverty when it was poverty involving whites.

But Vance now seems willing not only to support every stupid thing that Trump says about race, but is beginning to develop his own brand of racial insults and invectives as his contribution to the 2024 Presidential race.

I’m referring to a statement he made recently in a CBS interview, where he claimed the Biden Administration was guilty of discrimination against white farmers because the Agriculture Department is going to release $2 billion to black owners of farmland, woodland and other rural properties who were frozen out of government support for years simply because they weren’t white.

The USDA monies will be paid out to some 43,000 farmers, mostly black but some other non-white farmers as well, whose applications for USDA aid were routinely rejected over the years, and the denial of government funds usually meant that these farmers couldn’t get local banks to help them out as well.
