Where Will Rudy Giuliani Wind Up?

Last week, following the collapse of his bankruptcy case, the attorneys representing the two Georgia women who won a $146-million defamation lawsuit against Rudy Giuliani have now petitioned the Court to appoint someone who will oversee the sale of Rudy’s assets so that the women will be able to collect at least some of the monies owed them from their defamation case.

You can read the petition right here, but I’ll save you the trouble by pointing out that most of Rudy’s assets are in the form of tangible real estate, i.e., his New York and Palm Beach apartments, but there’s also another piece of personal property which to me, says more about Rudy than anything else.

I’m referring to a list of 24 watches owned by Rudy, most of which come from such high-end watchmakers as Tiffany, Breitling, Baume & Mercer, whose timepieces aren’t sold in Wal Mart, which is where I bought my last watch.

Know the name of another Manhattan resident who kept a large watch collection in his apartment and on occasion would take out the custom-made display cases where he kept the watches in order to show off the collection to his friends?

None other than Bernard Madoff, whose watch collection was auctioned off six months after he went to jail, with some of the pieces fetching more than $5,000, although many also went for far less than…
