Which Donald Trump Will Appear in Milwaukee?

You’re not going to believe this, but I’m willing to take the short odds right now on a couple of Jacksons that Donald Trump will show up at the convention and make himself out to be the elder statesman of the GOP.

He’ll leave the rhetorical nastiness, insults and any necessary profanity to his new-found buddy, J.V. Vance, because that’s what the Vice President candidate in a political campaign is supposed to do, namely, say things that are what the President thinks but don’t get turned into a narrative which tumbles out of the Presidential candidate’s mouth.

Which will make you immediately ask: How could someone like Donald Trump, who has spent the last nine years talking in a tone and rhetorical style which no other public figure ever dared to do in a political campaign, all of a sudden become Mister High and Mighty and completely change his public persona literally overnight?

If you haven’t figured it out by now, you haven’t been paying attention to politics and political personalities over the last nine years. Because if you had been paying attention, you would know that Donald Trump was never really a builder/manager of real estate, he was never this big dealmaker who could slice anything three different ways and always come out on top.
