Who Will Be Trump’s Running-Mate?
My prediction for who will share the GOP Presidential ticket with Donald Trump, if Donald Trump is still on the ticket, can best be explained if I first relate an incident from the old Wild West.
This incident involved a treaty which General George Crook presented to the various chiefs of the Sioux Nation in 1881 following a weekend powwow which involved plenty of food and plenty of booze. The document gave the Sioux tribes control over the territory which would become North and South Dakota, western Nebraska and most of Wyoming and Montana, a treaty which the U.S. government immediately forgot to enforce after it was signed.
One of the chiefs at this big conclave was Crazy Horse, who when he returned to the Oglala Sioux camp, the braves told him he was going to lose his leadership position because by signing the treaty, he had sold them out.
Crazy Horse yelled and screamed that he never put his mark on any document, and eventually regained his Oglala leadership role although the rumor that he signed the treaty continued to float around.
To settle this issue once and for all, an enterprising reporter from a Chicago newspaper interviewed Sitting Bull who was going around the country in Bill Hickock’s Wild West show, and the journalist asked Sitting Bull point-blank whether Crazy Horse had signed the treaty or…
