Will We Suffer Under Trump?
Back in the Summer of 2008, my wife and I were enjoying a lovely lunch at an Asian Fusion restaurant in a lovely town near where we live. The noodles and other glop we ordered was only going to cost us twenty bucks apiece, plus add an additional ten dollars for each of us to have a lovely, watery glass of lovely white wine.
As we were sitting there, a woman walked up to our table whom my wife recognized because she had been a nurse at the medical center where my wife is an attending physician, but she had quit to open a ‘birthing studio’ down the block from the lovely Asian Fusion restaurant where we were enjoying our lovely meal.
This ‘birthing studio’ was making this woman a lot more money than she ever earned working at the medical center. When you were ready to bring your child into the world, the parents showed up at the birthing studio and in a matter of a few hours, the new child would arrive.
During the actual birthing process, a man sat alongside the mother, strumming a guitar and quietly singing a soothing tune. The moment the new child was born, it was gently placed in a tub of warm water to ease the transition from the womb to the harsh world to which the new child had just been exposed.
