Who’s To Blame for Gaza? We Are!

I hate to say it, but if you really want to understand what’s going on in Gaza, you have to know how and why all those poor bastards ended up in Gaza in the first place, which means you have to understand how come Gaza is this tiny strip of land surrounded by the Jewish state.

Know why there is or was a kibbutz located right outside the fence which separates Jews and Arabs along this rocky stretch of the Mediterranean coast? Because when the Jews established that good-for-nothing settlement on the edge of the desert, they had nowhere else to go.

But wait a goddamn minute, you say! Weren’t the Jews who settled in what used to be called Palestine a bunch of Zionists who wanted to come back to the Holy Land — Zion — and re-establish God’s kingdom on Earth so that the Diaspora would come to an end?

Sounds good but it happens not to be true. Or better yet, it’s a half-truth or maybe a quarter-truth, but it ain’t what really happened in the Near East before, during and after World War II, particularly after World War II.
