Who’s Winning the 2024 Campaign?

Yea, yea, I know the polls are all bullshit and we should ignore them no matter what they say. But for all the talk about how the polls didn’t correctly call the 2016 Presidential race, they are usually more right than wrong.

And if anyone wants to doubt that the polls are wrong because they show how things have changed since Kamala replaced Joe, go right ahead.

Meanwhile, what the polls do show is that Kamala is pulling close to that magic 50-percent mark and more important, that the number of people who (to paraphrase David Sedaris) would rather eat hot dog shit with sprinkled glass continues to drop down.

As of September 18, the aggregate RCP poll number has Harris-Walz at 49.3% versus Trump-Vance at 47.4%, the Harris number being the highest and closest to 50% that either ticket has registered since RCP started tracking aggregate polls back at the end of March.

More telling is the fact that the hot dog-shit number is under 5 percent, which if nothing else tells you that this campaign is beginning to come to an end.

Back in 2016, the election which everyone always cites to back up the idea that you can’t trust the polls, Clinton had a 2-point lead over Trump but the ‘undecided’ vote or vote for some other candidate stood at almost 10 percent!
