Why Can’t Trump and Rudy Shut Up?

So, here are two guys as well-known or maybe even better known than just about two guys anywhere in the world, and between them they’re in hock for somewhere around $235 million, an amount which might even go higher if interest charges for non-payment get tacked on.

How did this happen?

I mean, I know why it happened. It happened because both these guys lost lawsuits brought against them by people they slandered or defamed or whatever word you want to use for lying about someone else.

But the reason they are facing these extraordinary financial penalties is very simple, namely, they just can’t keep their friggin’ mouths shut.

And it’s not as if these two guys don’t have all sorts of experts and assistants around them who probably would have told them to keep their friggin’ mouths shut, except as far as we know, they were never asked.

Or if these toadies, gofers, and friends were asked, they knew enough to keep their friggin’ mouths shut in order not to piss off the boss, or whatever relationship they had with Rudy and Don.

But I’m beginning to think that there’s something else at work here, something which is part and parcel of how politics and contemporary political culture has really changed, and it’s a change which, if anything, will not only continue, but…
