Why Not Celebrate January 6th?

If I had to nominate one sentence spoken by Donald Trump as the single most vile, insulting, and disgusting sentence ever uttered by an American President, it would be any sentence in which he refers to the rioters convicted for their January 6th behavior as ‘hostages.’ And I note that the use of that word has become something of a way that politicians can show their continued loyalty to Trump, the word being used by Elise Stefanik, the hard-on who now has two Ivy League Presidential scalps hanging from her belt, who mentioned her concern about the treatment of the January 6th ‘hostages’ earlier this week.

I can see it now. As we get further into the campaign and Trump gets more desperate to keep his candidacy afloat, he’ll promise to get the Postal Service to issue a January 6th commemorative stamp and Stefanik can get together with Marjorie Taylor Greene to introduce a Congressional resolution making January 6th a federal holiday called ‘Freedom Day.’

After Trump issues a blanket pardon to all the January 6th rioters, we’ll have a new organization springing up called the VCR, which will stand for Veterans of the Capitol Rebellion, whose membership will be limited to anyone who can submit proof that they marched from the Ellipse down to the Capitol on Freedom Day, and a VCR contingent will lead off the parade on the 2025 Inauguration Day parade.
