Why Not Confirm Matt Gaetz?
This may come as a surprise or even a shock to some of my liberal friends, but I happen to think that not only shouldn’t we oppose Matt Gaetz becoming the next AG, but we should make sure he’s confirmed and joins the management team being assembled by Donald Trump.
How could I make such a ridiculously bizarre statement? How could I want to see the law enforcement efforts of the federal government in the hands of such a putz? [The word ‘putz’ is Yiddish for ‘dick,’ as in ‘he’s a real dick.’]
There are two reasons I want Gaetz to sit in the largest, top-floor office in the Robert F. Kennedy Justice Building at 950 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Reason #1: Sooner or later the report of the House Ethics Committee on how Gaetz was screwing some teenager, and a few other tasty ethical tidbits will be released. If it’s not released officially by the Committee, it will be leaked because sooner or later, everything is leaked in D.C.
Just imagine how it would be when Gaetz holds his first meeting with the DOJ staff, and someone is sitting there reading the report which has been published in a special edition by The Washington Post.
Reason #2: Of all the federal agencies, the DOJ has the most experienced legal staff, and they will sit at their desks, doing their jobs and counting the days until Gaetz is gone.
