Why Stop Trump Now?

This may sound to be too far out to be taken seriously, or maybe I’m just beginning to indulge in my own version of conspiracy theories. But why do I get the impression that the Democrat(ic) Party would be just as happy to let the GOP win the election next year and maintain their majorities in the Senate and the House until 2028?

I have two answers to that question and here they are:

Answer #1 — The only Democrat who seems to be making any noise right now is Bernie Sanders, who’s holding a bunch of ‘tax the rich’ rallies throughout the United States. He appears to be drawing good-sized crowds but he’s just repeating the same spiel he’s been coming out with since he first started appearing at Occupy Wall Street demonstrations in 2011 and he got nowhere then in the same way that he’ll get nowhere now.

Answer #2 — Trump has gotten kicked in his fat ass more times in the last week than anyone can count. Elon Musk’s great DOGE campaign has been declared to be unconstitutional, the deportation of three hundred so-called gang members to El Salvador was halted while the planes carrying those gangsters were already in the air. And now the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court has told Trump to suck it up when he disagrees with a federal judge who won’t do what Trump wants.

If you don’t have anyone who is seen as a likely leader of a national political party on the one hand and if the leader of the other national party seems to be on the other hand fucking everything up, why bother to figure out and put together a new political strategy or a new political message at all?

Now that Trump has shit-canned all the Democrats who were serving on the Board of the Kennedy Center, I can just imagine how he will begin using the space for entertainment that promotes his anti-woke campaign, which probably means a bunch of concerts by the right-wing country music groups which perform at his campaign events.

All of this stupid and hyper partisan behavior probably wouldn’t be happening if either or both of the Capitol legislative chambers were to turn blue next year. Which is the reason I suspect why the Democrats have been rather quiet about both their campaign plans and raising the necessary cash for their campaigns.
