Will the GOP Win Because of Where We Live?

There’s a very interesting article online this morning, and if you want to get through all those fucking ads, which now permeate the internet like the way a bunch of flies are floating around a small piece of dogshit on my front lawn, you can read it right here.

The article summarizes a recent report from the U.S. Census, which shows that while the country’s total population has increased slightly since 2020, the growth rate has declined, and 18 states showed an absolute loss of population over the last several years.

This rebound from yet another result of the Covid-19 virus was not unexpected, but the fact that the rate of population growth has slowed is a cause for concern.

Why? Because the number of people who live within any specific geographical region happens to be the primary motor for economic expansion, and as the overall population slows or declines, we need less food, less clothing, less gasoline for our cars, less cars themselves, and less everything else whose consumption happens to be what drives the economy which relies primarily on consumer expenditures for increased growth.

As for those 18 states which have experienced an absolute drop in residents over the last several years, I happen to live in one of those states — Massachusetts — which was ranked eighth of the eighteen…
