Will We Keep an Assault-Weapons Ban?

Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought that the whole point of Donld Trump appointing all those conservative judges to the Supreme Court was to make sure that we, all of us God-fearing and law-abiding Americans, would never lose their 2nd-Amendment ‘rights.’

Now the fact that the 2nd Amendment doesn’t say that you have to pass a background check in order to buy or own a gun just shows how much the liberals have already managed to water down the part of the Constitution that was written to make sure we could all protect ourselves from government tyranny.

But when the government not only says you can’t own a gun if you’ve slapped your wife around because she burned the steak, but now also says that there are certain kinds of guns you can’t own no matter how you behave, then obviously the whole purpose of the Constitution has gone right down the drain.

I’m referring to the Court’s decision last week that the assault-rifle ban voted in Illinois can remain in force until all the appeals thrown up by Gun-nut Nation run their course. The ban was imposed after seven people were killed and numerous others were wounded by a patriot who decided to show his love of country and his support for the 2nd Amendment by climbing up on a roof overlooking the main street and banging away at marchers going past during the July 4th parade.

And by the way, Illinois happens to be the state where a law passed by the city of Highland Park requiring that anyone who wanted to own an assault rifle had to move…
