Zionism vs. Judaism. What’s the Difference?

Now that the GOP has decided that America’s Jews are their best friends, I think it’s time to explain the difference between Zionism and Judaism, because being opposed to Israel’s invasion of Gaza and being anti-Semitic is not the same thing, notwithstanding the cynical attempt by the GOP to connect these two beliefs together in order to pretend they are protecting Jewish students on college campuses from being assaulted by all those pro-Hamas terrorists lurking about.

I am saying that the GOP’s current pro-Jewish stance is cynical for the simple reason that when Trump decided he needed a couple of days to denounce the Nazis who marched down the main street in Charlottesville waving their swastika flags and yelling anti-Semitic chants, you didn’t hear a peep out of a single GOP blowhard because, after all, there were ‘good people’ on both sides.

That comment, which to me represented the single stupidest and hate-filled comment ever made by any American President, could only have been said out loud in the Unites States, because in Europe, such a comment might have landed the speaker in jail.

You may not believe this, but in both France and Germany it’s a serious offense to display any Nazi symbol or logo at all. And as far as I’m concerned, if the Supreme Court is willing to set limits on free speech, i.e., you can’t…
